Anna Wickenden

She has been working in partnership with the Ministry of Health in Liberia in the field of Severe Stigmatizing Skin Diseases since 2012. Anna is the Senior Technical Advisor in Health Systems Strengthening and Inclusion, at effect:hope. Anna has been working in the field of health systems strengthening and Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD) in Asia and Africa for over 15 years.  Motivated by the belief in the right to dignity and healthcare for all, with a specific focus on working in partnership with MoH to effectively integrate vertical disease control programs into national health systems in low resource settings, Anna has championed the incorporation of participatory practices and inclusive approaches into the development and implementation of integrated NTD case management programs. Anna has extensive experience in the development and implementation of integrated NTD policies and implementation, monitoring and evaluation of NTD programs, theory of change, operational research, and advocacy in national and international contexts. Anna has previously served as the Global Director of the AIM Initiative, and International Programs Director at effect:hope. Anna holds a BA in Political Science and International Development, and an MA in Gender and International Development from the Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex
