He has over 28 years’ experience in research and programme management focussing on neglected tropical diseases. Sunday started work as a Senior Research Officer with the Nigerian Institute for Trypanosomiasis Research, Kaduna and was a research assistant in the WHO/TDR multi country research on community directed treatment with ivermectin from 1994-1996. Sunday was appointed Country Director in 2009. He has extensive experienced in community-based programmes and has participated in WHO/TDR community based operational research and co-authored several publications on NTDs and eye health. He contributed in developing the Onchocerciasis control programme in several countries in Africa.
